Money Protection

Hi guys....I have been really busy with school...but I'm back now to leave you guys with a few interesting articles about protecting your money during this economic....downfall?

One article I have is from MSN Money with

10 Ways to Protect your Money Now

I think this is a great article that you should look into even if you do not do what it says. It gives you good info.

And also just a little update on my financial status:

Im in debt....not a big surprise....

but my goals for now is to pay off my credit card....I just paid 150 towards the balance

I have about 430 to go.

I am also planning on opening a CD or a few of them....

but by opening a CD with interest rates dropping fast, Im basically guaranteeing that i will see my money grow at the same rate for the set time.

For example if I open a CD at 4% with $1,000 for 1 yr., it will be set at 4%

no matter how much rates fall in the future.

CDs are Usually a smart idea when interest rates start to fall...like it is now...

Please Be Patient

I'm new to this blogging thing and right now i'm doing a little research of my own on ways to go about retirement funds. I don't know if anyone is even reading this blog, but if you are. Please let me know what you want to know about and I'll try to put it here in a easy to understand version,if i can. Most of the sites I find are a little confusing to me, so I want to try to make it simple to understand. So if there is anything topic you want me to write about or any suggestions about my blog, please let me know.

Some Background on My Money

Well right now I am dead broke. I have about 500 dollars in credit card debt, but that should be paid off in about a month. I am going to try to put at least 100 dollars toward it each week so i can pay off the balance ASAP. I don't want to pay the bank any more interest than I have to. I have like 100 dollars in an ING Savings Account. My main Bank for Checking is HSBC. I have had it since before I went into college, and it hasn't given me problems so I will stick with it. So.....basically the journey starts with about -500 dollars because of credit card debt.

First Post

Hi, My name is Mike, I started this blog as sort of a journal, and also to share what I learn about saving up to ensure a good retirement. Now for some background, I'm 20 yrs old, I am currently attending a city college in NYC. I work 3 days a week and go to school the other 2 days. I am currently pursuing a degree in Psychology, because it interests me and I feel it will come in handy in general. My passion lies in real estate, I have dreams and some rough plans of what I want to do in the Real Estate World. So, stick around and follow me as I make mistakes (Definitely will) and learn what to do to have a secure retirement fund.
